A quick Google search yields no shortage of reviews and opinions on the brand-new Gap Factory in San Francisco, with most of them focused on how underwhelming the new factory actually is. But what do you really get when you walk into this much-hyped tourist attraction? Here’s everything you need to know before visiting the Gap Factory—and why you might want to skip it altogether if you don’t have the time or interest to go hands-on with some jeans.
Where is it?
Gap factory is a clothing store that has locations all around America. It specializes in blue jean pants for kids, men, and women, but also sells different types of shirts, jackets, sweaters, t-shirts and many other accessories. This company was founded in 1969 in San Francisco California. Gap factory is known to carry a variety of different kinds of clothes; they have work wear, sports wear and special events such as proms or weddings that they specialize in. The Gap has expanded its market to now include Gap Outlet which are discount stores that sell mostly last season’s products. They also have Baby gap which sells infant apparel.
When can I go?
You can visit Gap Factory at any time; it is a complete factory and will always be open. However, its opening hours do vary between weekend and weekdays. On Friday and Saturday, Gap Factory opens at 11AM EST and closes at midnight; on Sunday through Thursday, it opens at 10AM EST and closes just after 11PM. During national holidays, Gap Factory stays open 24/7. It is also closed on Christmas Day (25 December) as well as two days around New Year’s Eve (30 December-1 January). For more information about Gap Factory’s opening hours, head to our dedicated page here . Remember that some items are only available in limited amounts during particular periods—such as when a new collection launches—and so not everything will be for sale every day!
Do I need to book in advance?
When it comes to Gap Factory, there’s no way to get in without booking. This is because they only have a handful of printers and can only let in around 30 people per session, so if you want to go, you’ll need to be quick about making your booking—it can be done online, usually about 24 hours before you wish to attend. Once booked in, arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in and paperwork; you don’t want to miss out!
What are the opening hours?
If you’re planning to visit a Gap factory store, make sure you get there during normal opening hours. Monday through Friday, most stores open at 9am and close at 6pm; Gap Outlet and Gap Factory Stores are open on weekends as well.
Gap factory never cost a penny. It’s totally free! So what’s in it for us? Well, when you purchase Gap factory through our company site, we get a commission. Just something to think about while trying to lose weight and stay healthy. 🙂
Where can I park?
Finding a parking spot at Gap Factory can be difficult at times. There are several small parking lots that surround Gap, but you might have to search for a while before finding one. However, if you’re planning on staying late, there is almost always an available space in front of Gap. You could also park in any of the nearby parking garages and walk to Gap or take public transportation if you don’t want to deal with finding a place to park. It’s best not to drive directly into downtown San Jose during rush hour (typically between 5:30 and 7:00 pm), as traffic tends to come to a standstill and drivers become impatient, thus resulting in road rage incidents, aggressive driving and accidents.
How do I get there via public transport?
If you don’t have your own car, using public transport to get to Gap Factory can be a little tricky. However, it is still possible; here are some tips. Trains Getting to and from Gap Factory by train can be quite difficult. You could take a train from Strawberry Hill (RIS) or Herne Hill (RIS) stations directly to Canada Water Underground Station, where you can then catch another train on via Canada Water Underground Station to London Overground Westbound Platform or Canary Wharf Underground Station.
Can my kids visit this place?
Although Gap Factory is not directly aimed at children, it is an indoor attraction and children of all ages are welcome. If your child has special needs or requirements, then please do contact Gap Factory in advance to check whether they will be able to cope with anything specific that may be required on your day out. For example, if you have a toddler who won’t sit still for more than a minute, then we don’t recommend visiting as it might be too much of a challenge! At Gap Factory you can be assured that kids are always made to feel welcome – if they behave themselves! Our workers are trained in child psychology and can often get even our most difficult guests smiling!
