Early influences
Dr. Ildaura Murillo-Rohde, PhD, RN, FAAN came from a family of nurses. And teachers on both sides of her family with ties to healthcare education stretching back several generations. And even longer for some. Dr. Murillo-Rohde credited her parents for their support in furthering her education. She is currently a professor at George Mason University School of Nursing & Health Studies and its Director of Hispanic Initiatives; she works actively to improve diversity efforts on campus through programs aimed at recruiting. Prior to that she was President and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Sinai Beth Israel from 2007 to 2016. And a professor of nursing at New York University School of Medicine since 2003. She is a registered nurse by profession with over thirty years of experience teaching. Clinical practice.
